Accessiblity Statement.

We have designed and tested our website for a broad range of browsers and operating systems. On this page we cover the navigation process, technical requirements to run the site properly, the design standards we used when developing the site.

It is important to us to ensure that all users have easy access to our website, so if you are experiencing difficulties with our website, or have any comments or questions, please do not hesitate to contact us by using the contact webmaster form.

The following list details some of the site-wide navigation features that improve the overall accessibility of this site.

• The primary navigation (i.e. related to the business) is a set of four buttons at the top of the page, which take you to the four main areas of the website. These buttons are image based, however the alt tag is defined for these images, to allow screen readers to work correctly.
• Secondary navigation (i.e. related to the website) is available at the bottom of the page, with a set of three links.
• You may at any time return to the homepage by clicking on the Laguna Designs logo at the top of the page.
• A sitemap is available, and provides one-click access to all content on the website.

Visual design has been optimised for monitors set at 1024 by 768 pixels resolution with 32-bit colour depth. The site will still function for users on other settings but it may not be as visually appealing.

The Laguna Designs website has been built according to XHTML 1.0 Strict specifications and conforms to Web Consortium Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) priority 1 and 2 checkpoints.

Page design and layout is controlled by Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and has been written according to the CSS 2.1 specifications.

Structured and meaningful Hypertext Mark-up Language (HTML) has been used to assist users accessing the site via non-visual means, such as users of screen-reading software.

The Laguna Designs website allows you to quickly navigate to frequently used links by using keyboard shortcuts. Access keys are also useful for users who rely on a keyboard or another input device to navigate through the website.

To use access keys:
For Windows users Press ALT + an access key. If you are using Internet Explorer, you may also need to press Enter. For Macintosh users Press Control + an access key.
